Foundation and Visual Arts

Konex Exhibition
In
1992, the I Konex Exhibition was organized
to invite artists who had received the Merit
Diplomas in the event of the 1992 Konex
Awards: Visual Arts, for disciplines such
as: Painting, Mixed Techniques, New Proposals,
Installations and Drawing.
It
took place at the Palais de Glace, (National
Culture Halls) November 5 through December
6, 1992.
The
1st Prize was granted to Carlos Gorriarena
for his work "The shadow as a river";
the Special Prize for artists under 45 years
old was given to Jorge Alvaro, and the Special
Mentions to Fernando Fazzolari and Eduardo
Médici.
II
Konex Exhibition
In
1994, the II Konex Exhibition was organized.
A Special Jury was summoned to select the
100 most important Argentine Painters in
Argentine History of Painting 1810/1994.
The members of the Jury chose the most representative
work by each artist. Then an exhibition
was mounted at the National Museum of Fine
Arts, from September 6 through October 9.
The exhibition was called "100 Masterpieces
by 100 Argentine Painters" and it was
visited by over 100.000 people.

Masterpieces by 100 Argentine Painters
Following
the II Konex Exhibition in 1994 a book was
published, and all these works were reproduced,
including both comments from the painters
and their biographies.
Konex Foundation Painting Collection
As
from the II Exhibit, the Konex Foundation
decided to form a painting collection including
100 Masterpieces of 100 Argentine Painters
representative of the Argentine visual arts,
to organize an itinerant exhibition in our
country and abroad.
Horacio
Butler Award
In
1989, a painting competition was organized
in co-operation with the National Arts Fund.
1st Prize went to Enzo Juan Oliva for his
work: "The Writer and the Dog".
2nd Prize to Jorge Vidal for his painting:
"No Title". 1st Mention: Enrique
Burone Risso for his "Wide Concrete".
2nd Mention to: Daniel Eduardo Waisbord
for: "Porteño Corner".
An exhibition was mounted with the selected
paintings at the Centro Cultural Recoleta,
August 7 through 26, 1990.

Contributions
- Sponsoring
of the Exhibition by Elba Soto at the
Palais de Glace May 29 through June
16, 1991.
- Sponsoring
of the Mímesis Exhibition, organized
together with the Embassy of Mexico: 50
masterpieces by 25 Mexican artists were
exhibited. At that time artistic
creativity and technology were brought
together, so a highly original set of
graphic symbols was obtained using the
full laser colour Konex CLC 500 photocopiers
(1993).

to Horacio Butler" (Diamond Konex
1982: Visual Arts), at the National Museum
of Fine Arts, June 29 through July 25,
1993.
- Sponsoring
of the Exhibition and Projection of Digital
Works of High Entropy, performed
at the Planetarium in the City of Buenos
Aires, organized by Gyula Kosice, as from
December 1 through 3 , 1995.

Sponsoring of "The Anybody 96’ International
Colloquium" at the National Museum
of Fine Arts, as from June 6 through 8,
1996.

Sponsoring of Artist Marcelo Bonevardi’s
Exhibition, which was initially itinerant,
inaugurated December 11, 1996 at the Museo
Provincial of Fine Arts, Córdoba.
Later on it was shown in Rosario and culminated
in Buenos Aires at the Centro Cultural
Borges in April 1997.
